Coachella 2026

My top 3 that made it unforgettable & my Top 3 I wish never happened

The group minus two

Top 3 that made it unforgettable

1. Friends

This was my first Coachella, and I couldn’t have spent it with better people. Being able to experience the festival with close friends was truly an unforgettable experience, as some of them were also experiencing it for the first time.

2. El Moro Churros

I was obsessed with these churros, and obsessed is an understatement. There are a couple of people selling churros and other snacks at the festival, but what attracted me the most about this one was their setup, which seemed like a little store. The churros were 4 for $20 or 2 for $12. The first day, I got the four pieces of churros twice because the way they are freshly made, soft yet crunchy, and had a dipping sauce, just made me hungry. On the other two days, I only got the four pieces of churros once, but got my friends to get them too. They are a churro company based in Mexico City, which was amazing to learn, as well as their opening a shop in LA.

3. First Latina Female Headliner

Karol G is the first Latina female headliner at Coachella, and although this may not be big for some people, it is for my Latin community. I think she definitely delivered a great performance, bringing out some of my favorite Latin artists like Peso Pluma, Becky G, and J Balvin. She also brought out an all-female mariachi group, which was such a cool twist to her performance. I really do wish everyone I knew could experience this one night as everyone around us singing and dancing and just having the time of our lives.

Top 3 that I wish never happened

1. Waiting 3 hours to get a shuttle back home

It’s the night of Justin Bieber’s performance, and as we imagined, it was really full. I think it was the fullest set out of three headliners, and going back home at the same time as everyone was no joke. We had been at the festival for 8+ hours at this point, and I was excited to go home as I was tired from all the walking and my back had been hurting. When we got to the shuttle line, we realized we were towards the end, but didn’t think much about it until time started passing by. An hour went by, then another, and during the last hour, I checked the time, and it was 4:15 in the morning when Justin had ended his performance at 1 a.m. Thankfully, the shuttle came shortly after that, and I slept on the way home but didn’t get home until 5 a.m. I was in disbelief and told my group I hated Coachella and would not go on the last day.

2. Caring about the outfit

I took black boots the first day of the festival and instantly regretted it. I checked my Oura ring during the last set, and I had already gotten over 18k steps. I obviously didn’t learn my lesson because I wore boots for the last day as well, knowing my feet were super tired and I was probably going to get blisters. Why did I do it? I did it for the sole reason that it made the outfit put together. I was so worried about my outfits being cute that I forgot to pack comfy shoes. I also didn’t take into consideration that from all that walking and heat, my feet were going to swell up a bit. Are the pictures cute? I like to think so, but definitely not worth it, so the next time I go back I’m definitely dressing comfy.

3. Leaving my homework until the due day

This one is a no-brainer. The night before, I had gotten home at 5 a.m., and I knew my assignment was due that day at 10p.m. I had to make sure I woke up early to get it done, as I wasn’t sure how long it would take me to do. Thankfully, one of my friends helped me by making my breakfast as I worked on it, so I didn’t lose time. I have a recording section on the assignment, which always takes me a million times to keep it within the time frame, plus our other friends were starting to play loud music, and that’s when I hated myself for waiting. I got it done with only 1 hour left to shower, find the right outfit, do my makeup, and hair. I think this stress could’ve definitely been avoided, but at the end I’m glad I got it done just in time to enjoy our last day at Coachella.

Oxnard New Restaurant Review

Los Guerreros Restaurant/Cafe

I recently reviewed a new restaurant in Oxnard called Los Guerreros Restaurant and Cafe, located at 111 S. Rose Ave. They’ve been open since January 2026, and the second I walked in, I got a real “at-home” feeling. It’s a quiet, relaxing spot that reminds me of a classic mom-and-pop shop the kind of place where you can actually eat in peace.

The first thing that stood out to me was the value. In today’s world, finding a street hot dog for $5 is wild! We ordered the Inka Burger, Birria Tacos, and Mayan Fries, along with a Horchata and Agua de Fresa. My best advice? Go in with a huge appetite. The portions are massive and will definitely fill you up. Everything from the food to the drinks was delicious, and you really can’t beat those prices.

Owner Q&A: Alvaro Ortiz

I had the chance to sit down with the owner, Alvaro Ortiz, to talk about his vision for the restaurant/cafe.

What inspired you to open a Mexican restaurant?

“The knowledge I have of Mexican food. I know I can make the best food to serve my customers.”

Which of your salsas is the best?

“They are all great tasting!”

Do you want to expand your business one day?

“Yes, I’d love to move into a bigger restaurant.”

What is the biggest hardship you’ve faced since opening?

“Bringing in new customers and handling the marketing side of the business.”

Overall this restaurant was delicious and you must try it at least once.

 The Social Taste Test

Nowadays, people of this generation rely on TikTok for inspiration on where to go for a chill, boring Sunday morning or for a fun going out with friends type of deal. Well, today is your lucky day, I’ve assorted four different places to try in Ventura and LA County. Two morning spots in Ventura County and two night out spots in LA County. My best friend and I decided to try some new places on a Sunday, giving people places they might not have known of before being told.

#1: Anacappuccino (VTA)

289 E Post Hueneme Rd, Port Hueneme, Ca 93041

Anacappunccino is a cute little spot to grab a drink or even a morning snack. I got the small iced vanilla matcha which came out to $6.60. I would rate 9/10 because for starters, I’m not a big matcha person at all but I really enjoyed it. The flavors were sweet, earthy and slightly bitter. I would’ve rated it a 10/10 but because they added alot of ice, it watered down quicker then I would’ve liked.

#2: Fresco Juice Bar (VTA)

417 East Port Hueneme Road, Port Hueneme, Ca 93041

Fresco Juice Bar is more of a grab-and-go little hole in the wall. Wheather It’s going to the beach with your friends or having a chill day at home. I got the small Dubai Chocolate Acai Bowl which came out to $12.42. I would rate it a 10/10 because It was perfect amount of creamy, crunchy , and refreshing. I would definitely come back again, the staff were all very sweet and welcoming.

#3: East Street Burgers (LA)

4143 Lankershim Boulevard, Toluca Lake, Ca 91602

Easy Street Burgers is the perfect spot to munch on after a concert or sporting event. It’s a little pricey but it’s worth it. I got the double jalapeño monster meal and upgraded to cajun fries which came out to $24.12 which is not surprising for being LA. I would rate it a 10/10 because their house sauce is the perfect amount of a bitter mustard taste that goes perfect with the rest of the food. It was our first time there and we had alot of questions that the staff had no issues answering and making recommendations.

#4: Margaritaville (LA)

City Walk, Universal City, CA 91608

Margaritaville is a nice way to end the night out. Obviously for those over 21. It’s in a perfect location because It’s in City walk and theres so many other food places to eat after having a cute little drink. My friend and I both got the same two drinks. The first drink is called Blue Lagoon, which came out to $15.25 and the second is called Bama Breeze, which came out to $16.50. Blue Lagoon gave a bright citrusy vibe where Bama Breeze gave more tropical, creamy and refreshing vibe. We would rate them a 7/10 because both were really good, but the only thing was that we wished it had a bit more alcohol.

Final Thoughts

First of all, I’m thankful for my friend who accompanied me in this rating journey. It was a very fun Sunday and I’m happy to share my thoughts with other people. My friend and I were debating to stay local or to go explore which we decided on both. These are places we both have never been to but have wanted to try which were found either through friends or TikTok.

So I recommend getting a friend, going out there, and trying new things. Not only just to rate new places but to create new memories. We were having such a blast and learning new things about each other that we never would have if it weren’t for going out there to these new places. We’ve been friends for almost half a decade, and I never knew she didn’t like pineapple.

Star Wars, Marvel, & DC Art Expo

This past weekend before Spring Break I decided I was going to go to this art expo by my house. For what reason? Because the ad I found on Instagram was titled “Star Wars, Marvel, DC Art Expo” and that’s all I needed to see to be hooked.

The Amazing Art Expo!!!

First time ever hosted in Oxnard, CA, this event was a 3 day free event that landed on Friday, March 27 – Sunday, March 29 was such an amazing and fun event to go to. The venue was the Staybridge Suites (River Ridge) in Oxnard, California. The featuring art they had displayed were Anime, Video Games, Star Wars, Horror & Monster Art, Disney Princesses/Characters, Marvel, DC Comics, Lord of The Rings, DND/Fantasy & Dragons and more! “A representative and collective of 12 different artists such as: Christopher Clark, Nastiya Grushovenko, Dominic Glover, Adam Michaels, Ashley Raine, and many more! Everything around the room was hand drawn, created by an artist, nothing was made by AI in this room.” said by Rachi Felici, one of the event’s organizers. As you can see there is extremely amazing pieces of work drawn and presented here. All of the art really brought out my nerdy side because I knew every genre of art that were there. From the Harry Potter art to the One Piece art. My favorite, of course, was the Star Wars art. You can check out the Amazing Art Expo website below —- https://amazingartexpo.com/?srsltid=AfmBOootJRVg1c5I8pNZMms-Xi4-3-qRCFqC0HHPhNZrru2ZKua58f4H

Voice Actor Appereances

Many people from all over came by to this event. They had voice actors like David Sobolov, who voiced the villain Kaido in One Piece, and he has voiced many other known characters throughout his career. David Sobolov is a Canadian voice actor and director, best known for his roles as Gorilla Grodd in various DC media, Drax the Destroyer in various Marvel media, Kaido in One Piece, and various characters in the Transformers franchise; notably Depth Charge in Beast Wars: Transformers, Shockwave in Transformers: Prime, and Battletrap and Apelinq in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

Cosplay Costumes

This event wasn’t just art for 3 days, it was also a Cosplay Event. On Saturday and Sunday of that event, there were many people in their costumes ready to enjoy all of the art, artists, voice actors and be a part of their favorite niche. I saw many costumes, such as Clone Troopers from Star Wars, Monkey D. Luffy costumes from One Piece, Disney Princesses along with people dressed up as their favorite anime and horror film characters. Saturday and Sunday reminded me of a smaller version of Comic Con, but with a lot art and cool looking cosplay costumes. You can check out Amazing Art Expo Instagram below —-

How the Ventura College Foundation Changes Lives Through Student Support

As a student at Ventura College, I’ve always known there were resources available to help students succeed, but after speaking with Pete Parker, Director of Development for the Ventura College Foundation, I realized just how much support is actually available behind the scenes.

The Ventura College Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping students overcome barriers that may stand in the way of their education. Whether it’s financial struggles, housing challenges, food insecurity, or even transportation, the foundation works to make sure students have what they need to continue their academic journey.

One of the biggest ways the foundation supports students is through scholarships. This year alone, the foundation is awarding over one million dollars in scholarships, which is an incredible milestone. These scholarships can make a life-changing difference, especially for students who might otherwise have to pause or stop their education due to financial stress.

Pete explained that the foundation’s goal is simple: remove barriers so students can succeed. While financial support is the most common need, the foundation also works closely with programs like the Ventura College Basic Needs Center and the Promise Program to ensure students are supported in every aspect of their lives. These programs provide essential resources like food, school supplies, and additional support systems that help students stay focused on their education.

What many students may not realize is that some of this support is made possible through community involvement, including the Ventura College Marketplace, which helps generate funding that goes back into student programs and scholarships. This connection really shows how the campus and the community work together to support student success.

Something that really stood out to me was learning that the foundation is actually separate from the college itself. It is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works as an external partner, connecting the community to the college. Through donations and partnerships, they are able to fund scholarships and support programs that directly impact students.

The scholarship process is also much simpler than many students might expect. There is only one application that opens in October and closes in February. From there, students are matched with scholarships based on factors like GPA, major, and personal background. The foundation also provides workshops and support through the Writing Center to help students submit strong applications.

What makes the foundation truly special is the connection between donors and students. At the annual scholarship ceremony, donors get to meet the students they are supporting, creating a meaningful and personal experience. Pete shared that seeing students smile, celebrate, and even cry tears of joy when they receive support is the most rewarding part of his work.

As a recipient of two scholarships myself, this experience is incredibly personal. Being a single mom returning to school, support like this makes it possible for me to continue my education and work toward my goals. Receiving two scholarships through the Ventura College Foundation has been life-changing, and I’m deeply thankful to the donors who made that possible. Their support goes further than they may ever realize.

At the end of the day, the foundation’s mission is clear—they want students to succeed. They want to see students achieve their dreams and continue growing even after they leave Ventura College. It’s not just about the time spent on campus, but about building a lifelong connection and support system.

If you are a student at Ventura College, I highly recommend applying for scholarships and exploring the resources available. You never know how much support is out there until you take that first step.

To learn more, visit the Ventura College Foundation website or explore the Basic Needs Center to see the resources available to students.

Becoming My Own Girl Boss: A Day in the Life of a Community College Student

Being a community college student is about more than just attending classes. Many students are balancing school, work, and personal responsibilities while also preparing for their future careers. Every day looks different for me, and sometimes unexpected plans can change routines. As a student working toward completing my social media marketing degree, I am constantly learning how to manage my time, stay motivated, and continue building my career at the same time.

This article shares a realistic look at one day in my life as a community college student who is not only completing assignments but also working, creating content, and preparing for life after graduation.

Morning Routine: Resetting After a Busy Weekend

On most Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, my morning starts very early, around 4:30AM, so I can get to the gym before starting the rest of my daily responsibilities. However, this particular Wednesday looked a little different because I had just returned from Coachella Weekend 1, and my body needed a bit more time to recover. So, instead of waking up before sunrise as I usually do, I started my day at around 7:00AM, which gave me a much-needed boost to fulfill the day’s requirements.

My morning routine still focused on getting organized and preparing for the day ahead. I filmed a Get Ready With Me video, which is part of the content I create daily as I continue building my presence in digital media. Creating content has become an important part of my daily routine because it allows me to practice skills related to my future career in social media marketing. In addition, it is just something I enjoy doing on a daily basis.

Even on slower mornings, I remind myself that preparation sets the tone for the rest of the day.

♬ Garden party – neo trip

Around 9:00AM, my day officially began moving. I was already dressed and ready, so I filmed the start of my Day in My Life video by showing my outfit for the day. I made coffee at home and ate breakfast, which was leftovers from the night before (a tostada with beans, cheese, ground beef, and salsa). It was a simple meal, but it gave me the energy I needed to keep my focus.

Before heading to study, I made a quick stop at Costco to get gas and a car wash. Small errands like these are part of everyday life, but they still require planning and time management. After finishing my errands, I drove to Palm & Boy Coffee and Acai to study before class. This is one of my favorite cafés (Fun Fact: I used to work here back in 2019!)

I arrived at the café around 10:00AM, ordered an iced dirty chai with almond milk, and settled in to get some work done. This was important because it allowed me to prepare for class while also working on creative projects.

While studying, I filmed and created a short video for TikTok featuring a lip combo using my new Rhode products. Creating content while studying might seem unusual and/or odd, but for me, it is part of building my career. It allows me to practice marketing, filming, editing, and branding skills in real time!

Attending Class: Investing in My Future

After studying at the Palm & Boy, I left to attend my 11:30AM Digital Content Marketing class. Attending class is one of the most important parts of my day because it provides the knowledge and skills I need to succeed in my field. I am enjoying this class because it allows me to connect, in person, to peers with similar interests as me! As a community college student, I have learned that my education is an investment in my future.

Balancing school responsibilities requires a ton discipline and focus. Even on days when I feel tired or busy, I remind myself why I started this journey in the first place and what goal I am working towards.

Afternoon: Working and gaining Real-World Experience

After class, I drove to Thousand Oaks, where I work. Before clocking in for my shift, I picked up lunch from Jersey Mike’s and prepared for the rest of the afternoon. I worked from 1:30PM to 6:00PM,  helping customers and managing various other responsibilities at my job.

Working while attending school has taught me valuable skills such as time management, communication, and responsibility. These skills are just as important as the lessons I am learning in the classroom. Having a job also helps me gain real-world experience that will, hopefully, be useful in my future career.

My workday marked the end of my Day In My Life Vlog, but my responsibilities did not stop there.

Evening Reset: Finishing Responsibilities and Preparing for Tomorrow

After finishing work at 6PM, I drove home and continued organizing my space. I had just returned from a busy weekend at Coachella, so cleaning and resetting my environment was necessary to feel prepared for the upcoming week. Resetting the space is always helpful in creating a more productive environment.

Even after a long day of school and work, my responsibilities were nowhere near completed. I am currently taking Excel and we usually have a variety of assignments due on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Since this was a Wednesday, I still had a full list of assignments to complete. This part of the day requires extreme discipline, especially when I feel tired.

Later in the evening, I went to grab dinner at In-N-Out. Taking time to eat and relax is important because it allows me to recharge after a full day of responsibilities.

By the time I finished dinner, it was around 10:00PM, I took a shower, prepared for bed and got ready for my nightly “scroll-time”. Nights are a time for reflection and recovery. Even though the day was super busy, I was proud of everything I accomplished with my time management and organization. Now I am one day closer to building my dream career.

Reflecting: Becoming a Girl Boss One Day at a Time

This day in my life shows that being a community college student involves so much more than just going to class. It requires dedication, organization, and motivation. Everything I do, whether I am studying at the café, working a shift at my 9-5, creating content, or studying and doing homework, plays a role in building my future.

As the end of the semester approaches, I continue to focus on developing my skills, gaining experience, and preparing myself for my career in digital marketing. And while everyday looks different, one thing remains the same: all of the effort I put into each day helps me shape my opportunities for the next day to come.

The Sunday Reset Lie: Soft Aesthetics, Hard Expectations

If you’ve ever opened TikTok or Instagram on a Sunday Morning and suddenly felt the urge to get your life together, you’re not alone. What starts as a quick scroll down your “For You Page” can quickly snowball into watching video after video of perfectly curated influencer routines. You might see freshly cleaned rooms with wrinkle-free bedding and matching pillows, elaborate skincare regimens, an iced matcha in aesthetically designed glasses, or a perfectly planned to-do list for the upcoming week outlining tasks to be done in preparation. Sunday resets have become a trending phenomenon, creating more pressure to do more in preparation for the upcoming week and setting unrealistic expectations for the average college student. As viewers engage with these videos, they may find them calming, yet also subconsciously internalize pressure to complete the same tasks within a day and adopt unrealistic expectations of what their lives should look like.

These types of short -form videos have taken over our feeds, showcasing a mix of productivity and self-care. As we watch these influencer “resets”, we subtly compare them to our own lack thereof. While they may appear to be simple lifestyle content, there is more happening beneath the surface. This trend has contributed to the inauthenticity surrounding the concept of what it means to be an influencer.

Through visually appealing content, the facade of “relatable” habits, and subtle product placements, these routines do not truly inspire viewers to replicate them— they instead influence consumers to purchase featured products while simultaneously creating pressure for the average person. What were once simple, mundane tasks have been transformed by social media, reshaping the meaning of productivity and giving rise to an unrealistic and unattainable lifestyle over time.

So, why are we addicted to watching this niche genre of videos when there is such an absence of reality?

For Gen- Z viewers such as myself, the “Sunday Reset” trend resonates so hard because it hits the holy trifecta of productivity, self-care, and aesthetic lifestyle content— all without feeling overwhelming due to it’s calming combination of visually appealing clips and carefully chosen audio. This draws us in as an audience, creating a sudden urge of motivation as we think, “Hey, if they can do it, so can I!” However, achieving this sense of accomplishment comes with potential downsides when attempting to replicate what these influencers have done. The average college student doesn’t have the luxury of dedicating an entire day to household tasks, a 10-step skincare routine, or purchasing overpriced groceries and meticulously organizing each item. In reality, we can often complete a portion of these activities while juggling the unpredictability that is life. Time and time again, these influencers live up to their title, as their content is primarily meant to be consumed rather than realistically replicated from a college student’s perspective.

The real kicker of the “Sunday Reset” trend and its high performance on our feeds is the “soft selling” embedded through influencer-generated content and the products they subtly incorporate into their routines. I’ve fallen victim to a few of these products— such as skincare or household gadgets— because I was drawn watching them being used in real time, often paired with a trendy song playing in the background. That combination creates a powerful setup that encourages audiences to purchase without hesitation. It’s easy to see how absorbed we can become, especially given how accessible it is to buy the items featured in these videos. Much of this is driven by features like the TikTok Shop, where a simple tap allows you to continue watching a video while adding items to your cart. Instead of explicitly saying “buy this,” influencers seamlessly embed products into their routine, shifting the message from a clear promotion to something that feels like a natural part of their lives. Gen- Z viewers, who are often wary of traditional advertising, tend to distrust anything that feels overly promotional. As a result, soft selling comes across as more authentic and unscripted, reinforcing trust in the influencers they follow. This relationship- building between influencer and follower creates a domino effect, leading the follower to become a frequent consumer of the promoted brand.

To piggyback on the strong effects of “soft selling,” influencers carefully curate their image to align with their niche, aesthetic, and branding. They achieve this through neatly arranged products, cohesive color palettes, minimalist setups, and bright lighting. This visual clarity brings a sense of calm to a chaotic feed, encouraging viewers to stop and watch — often without realizing how much time has passed. Much of “Sunday Reset” content taps into these polished, effortless vibes such as glowing skin (as a result of an elaborate skincare routine), athlesuire outfits for casual outings like getting iced coffee, and ASMR-like clips cleaning and organizing their environment. All of these elements subtly communicate the idea that “this is what having your life together looks like.” That image is then perceived as both inspirational and attractive, while capturing the audience’s attention and keeps them coming back for more.

Influencer @amandaedins on TikTok
Aesthetic/Inspo account @dollicqte on TikTok

While “Sunday Reset” content is meant to feel calming and productive, it can also set an unspoken standard for what a “successful” day should look like. For majority of viewers, such as community college students, that standard isn’t realistic in a weekly basis. We have to manage our time carefully across multiple responsibilities— completing assignments, working shifts, and maintaining a social life. Instead of feeling motivated, some people end up experiencing guilt, telling themselves, “I didn’t do enough today” or “My life doesn’t look like that.”

This creates a harmful cycle in which content intended to inspire leads to comparison and self-doubt. These influencers “resets” function as highlight reels, presenting a highly curated version of their lives and creating a disconnect from reality. By turning self-care into performative tasks, they can make everyday activities feel like obligations tied to fitting into an idealized lifestyle. Before we know it, rest and relaxation becomes scheduled, and Sundays are filled with stress instead of serving as time to recharge. In this way, even “soft” productivity trends can add to the mental load rather than relieving it.

After posting an Instagram story questionnaire asking what typical Sundays look like for Gen-Z community college students, these were a few responses I had received.

“Grabbing a matcha, grocery shopping and finding somewhere to watch a sunset! This is what a Sunday of protecting my peace looks like,” said Julia Lopez, a former graduate of UCI.

Another contributor said “Bedrot,” which is a slang term for spending an extensive amount of time in bed— that involves scrolling on your phone, watching shows, or simply doing nothing.

Valeria Montes, a community college student attending Ventura College stated how “spending time with relatives,” is a typical Sunday activity she stresses the importance of.

“Going to the gym, [walking my] dogs, [hanging] out with friends,” was another response submitted by Grace Pacheco, a former graduate of SDSU.

At the end of the day, the “Sunday Reset” craze reflects exactly what it is: simply a trend that will pass as the next big thing emerges.  As community college students, we can navigate this tone-deaf phenomena by recognizing its disconnect from reality. We understand that influencers spend hours curating these videos and are not authentically portraying what their lives actually look like. Instead of striving for perfection, the concept of a “reset’ should be tailored to our lives— focusing on how we can take care of ourselves, mentally and physically, to the best of our abilities.

Check out https://www.instagram.com/calmlivingdiary?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ== for a fresh perspective of realistic self-care, reminders for when you need it most, and viewing content that will inspire you to live softly under your own terms 🙂

I decided to give this trend a try and created a TikTok for what a Sunday looks like in my life, filmed clips of the activities I had done, while putting my own flare to the music choice and how I edited it as something others can say “Hey, my days kind of look like that too!”

Next time Sunday rolls around and you find yourself struggling to do a couple errands, household chores, or getting on track before the new week arrives, here’s a playlist to fuel those tasks you’ve been putting off!

The Best At Home Coffee Business In Camarillo!

My friend’s at home coffee business, Cafe Solace, is honestly one of the best hidden gems around. Every drink is made with so much care and attention to detail, and you can really taste the difference compared to big coffee shops. From the quality of the ingredients to the way each cup looks aesthetic and Instagram worthy, Cafe Solace delivers both flavor and good customer service. It’s the kind of coffee that makes you want to keep coming back, and once you try it, you’ll see why it stands out as one of the best small coffee spots.

Top #1 Seller Cookie Butter Latte!

One of the best things about Cafe Solace is how many drinks and add ons she offers. There’s something for everyone. Whether you’re into coffee, chai, matcha, or something refreshing, the menu has so many creative options and you can customize your drink however you like. My personal favorites are the Cookie Butter Chai Latte, Dulce de Leche Latte , and the Strawberry Coconut Lemonade! They’re all super flavorful and unique. She also has matcha, which is actually her top seller, and it’s so smooth and well made. And if you’re not in the mood for coffee, the strawberry coconut lemonade is a must it’s honestly my favorite lemonade ever. Cafe Solace isn’t just a coffee spot, it’s a whole experience with fun, different drinks you won’t find anywhere else. The coffees are affordable and they range from $6-$8.

Matcha w/ Banana Pudding

The drink itself has an earthy taste with a very sweet creamy Banana taste to it. It’s not overly sweet, perfect balance with the matcha included.

Iced Vanilla Latte w/ Banana Pudding

Rich creamy Vanilla Latte is so delicious! Especially with the pudding it adds a creamy smooth texture to the drink!

Café Solace, you can tell everything is made with love. From the fresh strawberry purée made from scratch to all her homemade syrups, nothing feels basic or rushed. Even the pudding is made by her, which just makes the drinks taste even better and more special. You can really tell she puts time and care into everything, and it makes every drink feel more personal and worth it. My top 3 drinks would probably have to be, the Strawberry Coconut Lemonade its literally amazing I can’t even explain it, it’s sweet but still refreshing, and the shredded coconut makes it even better. It also has this slightly thicker texture that just makes it feel extra good. The Cookie Butter Chai Latte reminds me of gingerbread, super cozy and creamy with a really nice coffee flavor. And the Dulce De Leche is so yummy too, it has that smooth, milky sweetness that just hits every time.

  • Strawberry Coconut Lemonade
  • Cookie Butter Chai Latte
  • Dulce De Leche

Joselyn the owner of Cafe Solace says “I’m so excited to start this coffee business, not just for quick money like a lot of people, but because I genuinely love creating drinks and seeing people enjoy them. For me it’s about the experience, the creativity, and building something that feels personal and real. I want every cup to feel like it was made with care”

The best drinks you won’t regret getting! So many drinks and flavors to choose from!

When you’re scrolling on TikTok or Instagram and you see a video that says “sponsored” on it, you probably scroll past it. It’s not the ad’s fault, it’s not your fault, it just happens. With the increase of advertising through social media, companies are usually required to add the sponsored feature or often add links to make it easier for viewers to access the product. Instead of responding in a positive way, most viewers find these videos an interruption to their scroll.

There actually were studies at the University of Twente and Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences where they had tracked a number of participants’ Instagram feeds by looking at analytics and conducting interviews; The results confirmed that sponsored ads have much less watch time and overall less engagement compared to organic content.

This raises the question of how companies will move forward in marketing through social media, and who will actually even respond.

While I don’t have the resources these Universities have, I have a microphone and an iPhone, so I have conducted a series of short interviews with social media users of different kinds of demographics.

I asked,

“Why do you scroll past sponsored ads on TikTok, and why do some of them catch your eye?”

This video is of an interview with my coworker and friend Kianna expressing her opinion and answering the questions above. Of the 10 people that I interviewed, all the answers were generally the same. Viewers response to authentic content is significantly better than their response to ‘hokey’ sponsored content.

Thank you for reading, and I hope that this article urges you to consider why you avoid certain ads, and why others attract you.

Ragamuffin Coffee Roasters Has the Top 5 Beverages in Town!

Ragamuffin Coffee Roasters, located at The Collection in The Annex in Oxnard, is known for its popular and high quality drinks. The top five best selling drinks are the Cloudy Day Matcha, The VCB , Iced Shaken Expresso, Horchata Cold Brew and Bourbon Caramel Latte. The Bourbon latte ranks first because it has a smooth, sweet flavor that you can’t ever go wrong with. The iced Shaken Expresso latte ranks second and is also very popular, especially on warm days, strong with a refreshing taste. The matcha latte stands out as a unique option, not the biggest fan of matcha I rank it third and the VCB wasn’t personally a favorite of mine, it has a very bidder taste with a not so good after taste, as for the Horchata Cold Brew I was rank that last place it taste like watered down cinnamon water. Overall, these drinks represent the shop’s most popular and customer favorite choices!

The spot is a welcoming spot that makes a great study place for students. The cozy inside area and the outdoor seating give people plenty of space to sit, focus, and relax while working on homework or meeting with friends. The atmosphere feels calm and comfortable, which helps students stay productive. The pricing is also reasonable, with most drinks ranging from about $8 to $9. They offer a wide variety of drink options along with pastries, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy while studying.

The service was excellent there, they all seemed friendly to one another as well as to the customers they made conversation asking how are days went as well as other small talk.

The local barista from Ragamuffin Coffee Roasters Alexis says, “Not only do we serve fresh coffee everyday we also have a great connection with our loyal customers and that’s something that I can say why we’re the best coffee spot in town.”
