I’m not a coffee person, but people in town have been saying that Abuelos coffee shop is good and that they recommend it. They have been around in Fillmore for about a year or two, but I heard it gets packed in their everyday. The coffee shop is located at 751 W Ventura Street next to a Barber shop. I had to go and see it for myself, and when I got there, I was impressed by the interior, and they have lots of options on their menu when you come in.

I got a “café de olla” which means coffee from a pot in English. I didn’t know this was the most popular drink until somebody told me, and people buy this coffee every time they come. This coffee has cinnamon dust, foam, and cream, and you can get it iced or hot. For me, this is one of the best coffees that I have had in my life, I will definitely get it again the next time I go, and I recommend it to everybody who wants to try this coffee shop.

Another item I got was a Mexican chocha, they have many more Mexican breads. The one I got was a gonsito flavor. If you don’t know what a gansito is, it is a chocolate cake filled with strawberry-flavored jelly and cream, covered with chocolate sprinkles. We Mexicans call it the Mexican Twinkie because it looks exactly like a Twinkie. When I went there they also had an Oreo-flavored one as well. Overall, the chocha was good, and I will get it again. I give the chocha a ten out of ten.
After trying this coffee shop, I totally recommend it to everyone; it didn’t disappoint me one bit. Even though I’m not a person who drinks coffee, it was one of the best coffee shops that I have ever been to in my life. If you ever come to Fillmore and you want a coffee, Abuelos Coffee and Bakery is the perfect spot. I also think it’s important to support a small business like this amazing coffee shop.
They are open Mondays-Saturdays form 5AM-7PM And Sundays form 5AM-2PM.
