Sylvia decided 2021 was the year to go back to college to earn a certification in Social Media Marketing, expanding her marketing repertoire.

2023 and she’s back at it, starting classes towards a Graphic Design certification.

who is sylvia?

Sylvia Laabs has been fortunate to work with some of the biggest names you see every day – Visa, Disney, and NFL. She has strong marketing communications experience in the health insurance industry having worked at Anthem, Aetna, Centene, and UnitedHealth. She has also worked in the financial, print production, publishing, and social media industries. She has leveraged all facets of direct marketing communications in the customer lifecycle – Acquisition, Onboarding, Engagement and Retention. She can balance big picture strategy with day-to-day execution, while driving campaign success with data and measurable goals.

Outside of work, Sylvia enjoys exploring the outdoors by off-roading in her Jeep with family and friends. If she’s not in her Jeep, she may be watching a baseball game, as she’s an avid Los Angeles Dodgers fan who has seen every major league team play a game in their home stadium. She has enjoyed going back to college and upskilling her marketing approach. She lives with her husband, two sons, two pit bull dogs and a feisty cat name Katniss.

Helped build a new team to successfully launch Medicare Member loyalty and engagement strategies, growing and retain membership. Managed member email communications, wrote Welcome Call scripts and developed member onboarding Welcome websites.

Senior Marketing Manager – Visa
Developed and managed customized marketing solutions for Visa’s top bank issuers to drive member profitability and sustainable volume. Focused on portfolio communications of acquisition, activation, usage, and retention.

Cal Poly San Luis Obispo
Sylvia earned a Business Administration degree with a concentration in Finance. She was active in the local chapter of Delta Sigma Pi, a Co-Ed Professional Business Fraternity, serving as President, VP Pledge Education and Chapter Secretary.
